26-M3 District Governor Carol Deters

DG Carol Deters

District Governor Carol became a Lion in 2016 when her husband PDG John Deters finished his year as District Governor. The Lion organization interested her after visiting clubs and conventions with John. Sadly, PDG John passed away in 2017 from colon cancer. She continues to carry on his passion which became hers as well.
DG Carol was voted to be MD GST in 2017 and loved serving in that position, serving in that role for 5 years. She has also held several offices within her club, Bowling Green Lions Club, to include president, secretary and director. She is also a volunteer vision screener. DG Carol has attended five International Conventions and four USA/Canada Forums. Additionally, she has worked with two other Lions on the MD GAT Team and assisted with planning and organizing three Mid-Winter Forums. DG Carol has presented
several workshops on Service. She is a graduate of Great Plains Lions Leadership and Faculty Development Institute. She has also received a Certificate of Guiding Lion. This is her second year as a facilitator at GPLLI. DG Carol is semi-retired from her sign and t-shirt shop. She keeps busy with her three daughters and three
grandchildren. Her passion includes traveling and spending time with family and friends.

26-M5 District Governor Mickey Beach

DG Mickey Beach

Hello, my name is Mickey Beach. I am your District Governor for the year 2024-2025. I was born and raised in south Kansas City, Missouri, where I attended Center High School. I attended college at Missouri State University and Illinois State University, where I received a degree in teacher education. I taught science, physical education, and coached for 28 years in the state of Missouri, retiring from Brookfield High School. I have been married for 24 years to my wife and partner in Lionism, Martha. We both became active in Lions following our retirement as members of the Brookfield Lions in M-4. We moved to the KC area in the fall of 2020 and have now become active members of the KC Red Bridge Lions. We share three daughters and a son who have blessed us with five grandchildren. I look forward to getting to know and serving with the Lions of M-5.
